Discovery 4 House - Comfort, Performance & Efficiency

Discovery 4 House, our first entirely net-zero house in Calgary and fourth demonstration house, will serve as a blueprint for future energy efficient construction. We have joined in partnership with SAIT Polytechnic, Climate Change Central, and Carma Developers to take eco-smart home building to a new level of green.

Similar to Discovery 3, Discovery 4 House relies entirely on its own extensive solar and other renewable power systems to produce as much or more energy as needed annually. The Discovery 4 design is based on our Emerge Homes two storey Orchid plan, currently being built in the community of McKenzie Towne. The house was built on the the SAIT Polytechnic site in conjunction with the SAIT Green Building Technology Applied Research program. Discovery 4 was relocated to a fully insulated basement in McKenzie Towne.

Many of the green features showcased and tested in our Discovery homes have become part our standard specification package. Emerge Homes, a division of Avalon Master Builder, are truly different.
